Attack Covid-19 Tryout Protocols were added to Attack Website:
Update - 4/2/2020:
We have sent some prior updates in regards to the current COVID-19, those were sent through our Social Media outlets, by email and posted on the Attack Website under the COVID-19 tab and we will continue communicating information as quickly as we receive it. With that being said we wanted to answer some continued questions about the spring season. Please know the intent of our spring coaches reaching out was to just keep the kids involved during this extremely difficult time. We are currently playing the waiting game in regards to what things will look like for the spring for all of our teams. We know that the spring teams essentially had tryouts and then were left in limbo, so we wanted to reach out this way for them to be able to get involved. This in no way means you are held to the full payment amount if the season does not end up happening, we just wanted to find a way to get the kids involved who are probably missing volleyball terribly. We obviously do not think virtual practices would take the place of physical practices, but again just wanted to find a way to get the kids involved with their teams and coaches now, so when and if we do have a lift from the virus they have already connected in some way. We have not cancelled everything at this time because there has still been a great deal of communication going on between the volleyball governing bodies, club directors, and coaches around the State and Country, trying to see if there will still be options later into the season. In regards to a question raised about using Zoom, we were made aware that there were some security breach issues with that app/program. Zoom has since updated the security measures and password necessity for using the program. For Attack, our players and families are not going to be required to give any personal information, we are only utilizing it for weekly HiiT workouts, and a way for individual teams/coaches to communicate with each other without any personal information passed on. I know schools and businesses around the country are using this for connecting and we will continue to monitor any concerns with the use of this program.
Based on our original plans for the beginning of spring and Spring break, our last practice was Wednesday March 11th. Since then we have missed practices the week of March 16th and the week of March 23rd. As a reminder we had sent an email previously that due to the large number of different spring break schedules, we were going to be off our regular practice schedule the weeks of March 30th- April 3rd and April 6th- 10th. Practices were set to fully resume after spring break the week of April 13th.
We also wanted to follow up in regards to the latest order the Governor reported this morning. We were waiting to find out the status of schools moving forward for the remainder of the year. For us, that was important to know based on practices, tournaments etc. With her latest order, she has closed all school buildings for the remainder of the school year, unless things are lifted at a later date. For us, when and if we have a lift in player participation from the State and volleyball governing bodies, we have secured 3 other practice locations for our teams to continue in the spring. We wanted to be prepared for whatever obstacles might come our way.
Below is the email sent to our Competitive and National teams based on their schedules, which are different from our spring local teams, but I wanted you to receive that information as well.
We wanted to send an additional update to everyone in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic. As stated prior we had been placed on "shut down," from the State of Michigan and all volleyball governing bodies as we continue to work through this terrible virus that has struck our country. There have been some additional questions that were asked so I wanted to share where we currently were at with missed time, practices etc.
At this time we missed one scheduled tournament for our Competitive teams, March 14th and 15th, and one event for our National teams on March 21st and 22nd. Just as many of you, we are left in a situation of unknown until we receive further direction from the governing volleyball bodies, and most importantly waiting to see what decisions are made by our Governor in regards to the continued "Shelter in Place," situation. As an organization we began planning and organizing for this season back in October/November and our schedules have been in place since that time. We have continued to work closely with other Clubs and Directors around the State to plan for the possibility of a delayed tournament schedule, or the possibility of any further cancellations. Please know we are working diligently to be prepared for whatever options we have available to continue our season for all our Attack athletes. Because of the continued "stay and wait," situation we have been connecting virtually with our athletes to keep them invested and involved in the sport and with their team/coaches as much as possible. We know this is extremely difficult for everyone and we are doing our best to provide what we can for everyone while we are trying to stay at home and keeping our families healthy and safe.
It was shared earlier in the week that Volleyfest had been postponed to late May, no date has been given yet, and then as of yesterday we were advised of the same with Motor City Madness. So, at this time both events have been pushed back to a later date in May and we were told that they would send us additional information on those dates when they became available.
We will be sending out additional information to all our Attack Families as we continue to receive updates from the Governor and volleyball governing bodies. These are uncharted territories for us as a Country and as an organization so please know we are left with so many unknowns, just as you are and we are doing our very best to work through this difficult time. Please continue to stay healthy and safe and we look forward to getting back to all our Attack Families.

3/12/2020 Covid-19 Information:
Good Afternoon Attack Coaches, Parents, and Players,
We wanted to reach out to everyone and follow up with additional details in regards to the current state of the COVID-19 virus and what measures we are continuing to work on for our Attack Family. We were originally planning on beginning practices this week, but as we have observed, the current state of affairs within our County, State, and Country does not allow us to do that at this time. Please note, if you have not already done it, please like our Facebook, Instagram page and Twitter feed to stay up to speed on important information. As previously stated we have halted all practices, events, and training of any kind based on the current guidelines set forth by the CDC and all volleyball governing bodies. AAU last provided us an update on March 12th stating that all events would be cancelled for 3 weeks. At this time, with that being during Spring Break, we have decided to continue the "break" in all activities until the week of April 13th, based on the continued concerns raised from Covid-19 and the most recent "shut down," of the State from the Governor. This provides additional time for strides to be taken with stopping this terrible virus and keeping all our coaches, players, and families safe.
We will be having a conference call this week on March 24th to speak with other Club Directors and organizations around the state in continuing to plan for the remainder of the spring season. It is our hope that we will get this virus under control to continue on with the sport we all love. We want to thank all of you for your patience and understanding during this extremely difficult time and please know we are working diligently to set up contingency plans for the spring season.
We will be sending out additional information this week in regards to our spring plans and what opportunities may continue to be available to our Attack athletes. Please continue to stay healthy and safe and we look forward to getting back to all our Attack Families.
Kevin and Jodi McMillan
